Kathryn, I'd be very careful about a used sprayer, unless you can find out for sure what's been in it. I believe that some herbicides are very difficult to clean out entirely.

Looks like we're going to get into foliar spraying this year, which was unexpected but will solve some logistical issues for us. We would like to do not only liquids like filtered compost teas, but also soluble fertilizers.  We don't have a sprayer rig for our Class 1 3pt hitch tractor.  I can start to look for used rigs in our area; I'm sure they're available.  But what should I look for in terms of condition, wear, typical problems, etc?  I know to check things like blocked tubes/jets and obvious signs of rust or corrosion.  What else should I be aware of and/or watch out for?  Any makes/models which I should try to find, or avoid?  And anyone care to suggest a cost range?  I'll be treating up to two acres at a time, so size suggestions would be helpful too.  Thanks all.
