Whatever else you pencil in, don't forget to pencil in a rose bush or two somewhere for your very generous wife!  If not roses, whatever her favorite flowers/landscaping would be!

My gracious wife has included the following in our house remodel plans:
Extending our drive to our new walk-in basement.  Building therein sinks to wash, drain and pack veggies, a cold room with a coolbot, a cool space to store squashes and sweet potatoes, also a wood stove down there.

While in the design and soon to build stage, what do we need to be thinking about, in terms of ease of use, flexibility and GAPS certification/food safety?  Airflow, insulation, moisture control?

Links to planning documents useful as well.
