Also want to throw out the idea of using a booster pump; it'll cover a multitude of sins when it comes to designing your drip system.
I run my irrigation system (mostly t-tape) using a water tank and a 12 volt pump with a marine battery.
The pump is essentially an RV pump or a sprayer pump- you can find them in Northern or Agri-supply for about $100. The
battery will run another $100 if it's a marine type.
The pumps have an internal pressure switch and come in different gpm rates and can run dry without damage- I left mine on overnight once...
I believe that you could safely use one whether you're on "city" water or a well (although I'd make sure to size it so it
doesn't get ahead of the ability to supply since you don't want to burn out the more expensive well pump).
Regards,
Mike

On a bad day, I can run 4 lines. We put valves on each individual line and that way I can open or close as needed to keep the pressure up so we get water all the way to the ends of the lines.

Wow, I am shocked.  Water is unmetered here.  The things we take for
granted ...

At that price point, wouldn't it make more sense to dig a well?  That's
assuming that the aquifer is not too deep in your area, and that it can
sustain your needs.
