The antidote grows in the same vicinity as the poison ivy. It is called plantain by the locals. It is normally a broader leafed plant that sends up a central stalk. I take it inside and grind it up in the blender with a little water and make a paste of it to use where the poison ivy has touched. When I didn't get to the itching/rash right away, I just put the paste on and cover it with a homemade bandage like a tied sock and by morning it is gone.
