Potassium is a key element for causing/preventing muscle cramps.  I became acutely aware of this after having leg muscles re-arranged by a bull, and I now have to keep my potassium up to avoid the cramps.  Start there.

Hi, Folks!

Remember that you can get potassium from melons, especially cantaloupes – my husband the marathon runner (This year’s Boston time: 2:51:32) was eating lots of bananas, but didn’t like them so much (and, of course, I can’t grow them! ;-)).  I wanted a more local source for his potassium and found out that melons really deliver – and we all have ones that crack and can’t be sold.  Might as well get OUR potassium from them.

Frank also suffered from restless leg, but taking a full range B vitamin supplement has helped him a lot.  I can’t remember which B helps the restless leg, but it’s a different one that helps with carpal tunnel (which I get at certain times of the year – like this one!) and the full range is pretty cheap, so we both just take them and I have less carpal tunnel and his restless leg has calmed down, so it might be worth a try.

Hope this helps!
