I just realised I sent a post about float frames
without signing off, of well....
Here we still have snow on the ground,
very unusual for the end of Feb. The ground is
saturated. Does anyone have tips on how to
cope with a wet spring? Apart from staying
indoors and reading novels?
I'm considering flameweeding the raised
beds, and transplanting through a layer of
compost rather than tilling at all... Does anyone
have a method for potatoes? We need to plant
about 1200', and it'll be ages before we can get
a tractor out there. Has anyone tried laying out
the potatoes on the surface of the soil, covering
with compost and hilling up later, when the
plants start to grow and the soil is drier??
