We also buy seed garlic because of the size of the cloves, big cloves, big bulbs, etc. I often buy garlic from other growers and I don't think I've seen disease so far, but your point is well taken.

I'm talking 'garlic scallions,' I believe. bunched garlics that have one leave and, essentially, a clove attached. For salads and stir-frys.

I guess the other question was: who has certified garlic for sale this time of year.

I'll be on new ground later this spring and would still like to offer garlic.

Allan

Try using the website to contact them and ask for commercial grower
pricing. They sell commercial quantities to growers all over the U.S. I
didn't realize the website was more oriented toward selling to home
gardeners.

A major producer and supplier of commercial onion sets in bulk is Dutch
Valley Growers in Kankakee, Ill. Their website is
www.dutchvalleygrowers.com
.. I don't believe they sell an organic set. They also carry shallots.

Nice informational site, Bill, but prices are cheaper at our local
feed store ($25 for 25 lbs)

Anyone know of a reliable source of sets priced for commercial growers?

Thanks, -Allan
