Yes. Fried potatoes. I think they grew on bushes because I spent so much
time
avoiding the kitchen that I never actually saw my mother prepare them. Oh
yes,
and fish sticks! Surely that stuff in the middle wasn't really a meat
product!

Still trying to find an edition of Little Lulu where she explains the origin
of
Halloween to Alvin. It's about a poor,little girl (always in the form of
Lulu)
who sold weenies (not matchsticks) on a street corner and when a potential
customer approached she said, "Hallo! Weenie?"

Nice to know, as I prepare to brave the 100 degree weather (with no rain in
sight) and head for the field that there are others out there whose joints
will
be creaking in unison with mine.
