I can see it now: next Internetworkers gathering - bring hammer and other
destructive tools. We could have some fun with this party.

NO sledgehammers near my Jeep! ;-)

The minivan, however....

Here's a thought: Junkyard part? Instead of junking it, go pull a
computer off one at the JY? Or are the computers tied to other
chip-embedded software elsewhere in the car, or something dumb like
that? LKQ parts price list shows $39.99 with a $5 core charge for
computer / ECM. .

There are charities that will take cars, one charity does a "bash the
car" thing with old lemons. But this car sounds way too worthy to not
fix. You could sell it on Craigslist to someone who will be able to fix
it, being up front about the computer issue.

I am hearing an InterNetWorkers Wrench Party Day. I need some help with
swapping my Jeep springs, Jim needs help with this, I bet there are
others who'd be interested. We just need a well-equipped garage or
driveway, and a metal tub to hold the ice ;-). Anybody?

Paula

My 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan that had been my pride and joy had a part
fail that cost more from the dealer than the vehicle is worth.

I have been told I can get $350 for driving it out to the LKQ place in
Clayton and selling it for scrap metal.

It has a $500 stand for my laptop PC and a new battery that would be
worth something to someone.

Are there any charities that will take a vehicle in need of repair?
Other than the computer, it is in fairly good shape. I can still drive
it yet can’t get it to run well without the computer and hate to stick
anyone with a lemon.

Suggestions appreciated.
