This is not necessarily true. At the beginning of 2008, I was going to add
my daughter and husband as dependents on my employer's group plan, but after
very little research, I found out it was going to be about twice as much for
them to be my dependents, than if they got their own individual Blue
Advantage plans.

According to BCBS-NC, they consider the Blue Advantage one big group plan,
probably much bigger than your employer's plan, so individuals usually get a
better rate with the Advantage plan.

David, if your employer is providing the insurance you're part of a
group and should get lower rates than someone buying their own
insurance with BCBS' BlueAdvantage plan.
