If you're running a server with PHP/MySQL, and know a little of both, you
can replace all of the YG stuff fairly easily. I set up a site as a groups
replacement using:

http://www.phorum.org/
http://www.phpwizard.net/projects/phpPolls/
http://www.luciddesigns.com/calendar/
http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman.html

I had to do a fair amount of development to get a good file upload / image
thumbnailing script working, and you'd probably want some kind of
authentication/login as well, but these would cover 90% of your needs,
methinks.
