I'm trying to warm thoughts, so I was wondering if any of you have any
favorite reference books on seed saving, how to clean and store seeds
properly after harvesting, etc. I've found some info on the web, but only
generalized stuff. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Ooops! This book:

Seed to Seed: Seed Saving and Growing Techniques for Vegetable Gardeners (Paperback)
by Suzanne Ashworth, Kent Whealy

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1882424581/qid=1135298929/sr=8-2/ref=pd_bbs_2/103-8868058-5499849?n=507846&s=books&v=glance

Or just search it at your favorite vendor if the URL does not work. I found it pretty informative. It cleared up a lot of misinformation I had about the squash family. I have saved seed on a lot of different vegetables, and want to do more, so got this as a reference. I really like the information that it gives on pollination.
