FYI,
I read a post by Larry Morley <lmorley AT albany.net> on the
comp.os.linux.development.apps newsgroup that mentioned the company that he
works
for is putting together an ODBC interface that would be similar to the Windows
interface, as well as the drivers behind it. The main thing it looked like
he was
working on, or at least, going to work on, was to build a Windows library
interface
on Unix (similar but different then WINE), with one of the things being ODBC.
I
mentioned the FreeTDS movement, and how it might provide a basis for some of
the
backend of the ODBC for specific databases. He sounded interested, but
couldn't
find an reference point. Another poster, replied with the FreeTDS homepage,
so he
may come across the mailing list soon.

The point of this message is that there might be some one/group that might be
interested in building the ODBC interface using the FreeTDS library on the
back
side.

Gregg
