Woah. In my comment about Mr. Rez making his noises available in GarageBand
format I was merely
wishing to propose that in REMIX affairs that the artist or whoever make the
files available in a
non-proprietary format. I am in wholehearted agreement with Mark that with
"found sound"
experimentation it is far more interesting to lift material which has NOT
been sanctioned or
blessed by some cult-of-personality personality. After all, that's what
makes sound collage so
much fun to listen to and to produce. This said, I do enjoy doing remixes of
"sanctioned" works
just for the challenge of it, to see if I can spin it in a different way. I
am grateful to
archive.org for being just a storehouse of obscure goofy public domain shit
from which to draw.
Who knows, though, after reading these discourses I will snag some illicit
Trent off of some p2p
and combine his caterwauling with some three stooges samples and.....
