You cannot use puppy linux on a computer with only 12MB memory.

I think you are saying that you could use BL3 from two floppy disks and also install it to a linux file system on the hard drive.

I don't understand what you mean by a virtual box - did you install it
two different ways?

What exactly were you doing when you tried to use BL and got the
error message about hda?

Did you fix your problem with basiclinux?
Will it boot from 2 floppy disks?

Does Windows 3.11 work properly?  Can you boot from a DOS or Windows floppy
disk and access the hard drive?  Often hard drives fail.

Which version of basiclinux is this - 3.5 or 2.1, and are you booting it from
floppy disk or hard drive?

How much memory does the computer have?
