Dear Curt,

Assuming that when you signed on to this list you saw and read the rules, as well as the reminder that was sent out just today, let me emphasize a few of the list rules:

First of all, all members are required to sign all posts with their first and last names. Second, this is a list for academic discourse, which means that discussions are expected to be based on evidence, not on faith.

Specifically, this means that the fact that you dreamed that the Tetragrammaton was pronounced one way or another is not really something that we can discuss on this list. As you know, we have discussed this issue on the list in the past. If anyone feels that he has anything new to add he is welcome to go ahead, but I somehow have my doubts.

And who is Mr. baker?

Co-moderator, B-Hebrew

Sorry, thought this goes to the thread.

Let me start over :-)

Mr. baker,

Hi, my name is Curt. I found a thread from 2002 which you were discussing the pronounciation of YHWH.

I was wondering what your concluding thoughts were on this? I am currently under the opinion of pronouncing it as Yehouah (the waw as oo as in pool).

Interestingly though, years ago I used to pronounce the Name Yehovah due to Nehemia Gordon's book. In a dream I was proclaiming it and a messenger told me it was Yehouvah, stressing the ouv part?

What do you think?

Thanks for your time. I can't find too many people to discuss these things with. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Curt
