I was just curious, what is the current state of LaTeX support in acawiki? Is there a TexVC implementation?

More broadly, what are people's thoughts on whether there should be equations, diagrams, and graphs in the academic summaries? I imagine that many of these would be confusing or not useful for a general audience, but would be necessary for it to be of any value to an academic audience.

Any thoughts?

Best,
Dana

Hi all, Christopher added basic language support in Wikipedia style so
that pages can be translated. There is more that can be done, but for
we have a basic language policy which anyone can use to create a
translation of a page:

http://acawiki.org/AcaWiki:Language_policy

There is more to think about in terms of our summaries, and how to
represent them, and connect together translations, but this is a
start.

What languages do people speak on this list? Xiaowu from Fabricatorz
speaks mandarin so she translated the main page into simplified
Chinese.

I hope we can add Spanish and Arabic to the list of languages
supported soon, since those are very widely spoken as well.

The 2011.07 Roadmap items are targeted right now. If you want help
getting started, please respond to this email.

Cheers!

Jon

Hey guys,

As I have been recently assigned with Acawiki-related tasks, I'd like
introduce myself to the community.

I am an 18 years old Law student at Heidelberg University in Germany. I am a
developer and artist currently working as an intern at Fabricatorz. I am
currently working on adding website statistics to the front page, as well as
translating the front page to German and Polish.

Jakub
