Ah, I understand your point, Janet. Percy has opened doors to so many other thinkers for me. I first read The Moviegoer close to twenty years ago--seems unbelievable! Since then I've read and reread all of Percy and have found myself reading those he acknowledged as sources. Every time I read him, I discover something new. And sometimes, when I haven't been reading him, a connection to one of his works will pop into my head, and I'll discover something new and want to go back to reread again. Aren't we all only readers? Some folks on the list teach literature, but when any of us sits down with a book, it is just the reader and the book. And as a reader you certainly showed me, and I daresay all of us, new perspectives on an old favorite. Thank you! --Rhonda "You live in a deranged age, more deranged than usual, because in spite of great scientific and technological advances, man has not the faintest idea of who he is or what he is doing."
