Am now getting the first batch of hardy kiwis from some a. arguta vines I planted almost 20 years ago & finally found a male (Meader) to pollinate it. They are twice the size of the a. kolomikta fruits & have very strong hints of pineapple. Skins are tougher & more present than the kolomikta as well. Virtually impossible to tell if they are ripe by sight, have to squeeze each one. These unpruned fines are grown up a few ash trees & I see some fruit up to 30 - 40 feet up.
