I haven't followed the entire thread, but a few posts ago I thought "I wish
they
would post links to photos of the plants being debated". Would be great to
see
pictures of the entire plant/tree, flowers, fruit/ fruit clusters, leaves,
seeds;
plus a description of when you've harvested the fruit & how you've worked w/
it.
That way, it doesn't matter WHICH confusing or erroneous name is on its label
at the
garden-center or the catalogs. We'll know all about it, recognizing it on
sight, no
matter what the name.
And re crop loss estimates, altho I agree we have a lot to learn about the
complex
cause-&-effect of animal & plant ecologies, I know it's likely that an
intensive-plot farmer has a good idea of potential yields vs losses.
