I keep eyeing the abundant rotting logs in our 70 acre woodland, from giant
elms to aspen and basswood,
and wondering if hauling mountains of it to lay around fruit trees wouldn't
be the best mulch, soil conditioner, and, following Michael's comment -
perhaps add the needed little micro wonders?
Anyone done this? Del

I've long been
advocating that people find healthy wild trees and take a few spadefuls of
inoculated soil to their fruit orchards and/or compost piles if woody in
nature.
