I was thinking about planting some asparagus in an area where the chicken
are able to rome because asparagus would grow well there. Does anyone know
if chicken eat asparagus?

Bad idea, IMO...
Yes, they will eat asparagus, but worse, since your asparagus bed will
need lots of mulch and fresh organic matter every year, this provides
the perfect spot for chickens to scratch, dig, and wallow it for their
daily sunbath. Just my opinion...Now, if you could fence it off from
the chickens....
