sure, i figured out what that means...

It might be an obvious and nifty term for an native english speaker - but
for the rest of the world
it's not a word you learn at scool. And programmers, reading lots of
english technical texts, dont come
across that often either.

words like 'disconnected, detached, unlinked, orphaned, hibernating,
frozen' etc are 'known' or 'expected'
in this context.

Why do we evangelise the use of patterns, ideoms and the principle of the
least surprise ?
One look, and you know, what is meant. - when a non native english speaker
hits 'comatose' -
it's ' ??? äh ?? coma-what ?? ' - sure - we can figure it out - but its a
small, unnecessary distraction .

If this mail-list had a larger audience, this very discussion would make
'comatose' famous, well known
and eventually replace 'disconnected...frozen' in this technical context.
