WinCVS is just a GUI for the command line CVS client, what ever you can do in
the GUI you can do with the command line tool, you just need to know the command
line options.

On the command line you can use these two Global options

--crlf use the dos line feed for text files
--lf use the unix line feed for text files

While those options might work for the XOM source base, neither would be appropriate for the data files used in the XInclude tests, which are *very* picky about white space, and which test several different line ending conventions. In fact, they are more picky than the XInclude specification itself, which actually has several examples that are incorrect due to white space errors.

What's needed is a way to tell CVS not to touch the line breaks, to just take what's there. I'm not sure if this can be done on the client. Possibly I can do it on the server by marking the files as binary. Though then patches and diffs don't really work. However, that may be the best solution.
