More on the acts:

Viva la Venus is a four-piece touring and recording act from North Carolina. The live show combines powerful vocal harmonies with the gritty chug of guitars along with a sexy stage presence, taking the audience on a musical rollercoaster ride.

Along with being featured on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Raleigh's Live and Local TV, the track Mystery was featured in two episodes of the cable television series, Strong Medicine, on the Lifetime Network. Their music was also heavily featured in the recently released zombie flick, "The Forever Dead" (www.theforeverdead .com).

The debut CD release, The Never Ending Mending Story (Shiny Pants Records), has received wide critical acclaim. The second release, Forget the Fairy Tale was released in 2005 and is available online at CDBaby.com and for download from iTunes, Napster and other major electronic music distributors.

---------------

Though his fascination with music has been lifelong, Jon Gerler's musical existence as Dj FM is a journey that began a mere seven years ago.

Following the dissolution of his band S.G.O. in 1997, Gerler and producer Tom Mohbat began work on Dj FM's debut EP "breakup." The album introduced FM's signature blend of danceable beats, world percussion, live instrumentation and the haunting vocals of singer/actress Elizabeth Fountain. Tracks from the album were featured on MTV's "Real World," "Road Rules," and the Abercrombie & Fitch website. The song "Baranquilla" appeared on the Record Exchange's 1999 "Notes from Home" compilation CD which led to significant regional airplay on college radio, as well as a mention in CMJ.

FM then began his most ambitious plan to date: moving his music out of the clubs and assembling a group of musicians to help him perform in a live setting - The FM Initiative. Enlisting the aid of S.G.O.'s drummer Jason Clevenger and Mohbat's alter-ego Ravi on percussion, FM played a series of local live dates, including a benefit performance at Club Metro in Asheville and the Freakadelic Records Freak-for-All in 2000 at Local 506, Chapel Hill.

The group took a hiatus following FM's move to Baltimore, Maryland, where he began focusing on honing his DJ-ing skills, as well as the completion of his second LP, "conversion.factor". He DJ-ed at small clubs in and around Washington D.C., including the Galaxy Hut and Clarendon Ballroom in Arlington, VA. "Conversion.factor" was released online in early 2001 through a fledgling website called mp3.com, and 2AM Artist Management's Keith Haas invited FM's live group to perform at 2AM's Artist Showcase in Springfield, MA before an audience of over 2,000.

Back in North Carolina, FM began work on his 3rd release, the "Land on your Feet" EP. Tracks from all three of his releases continued to be used by MTV as well as various PBS programs including "In The Mix," and online indie retailer The Orchard helped the "breakup" EP see distribution through Apple's hugely successful iTunes Music Store.

After concluding a residency at Rush in early 2005, guest appearances at Aries Lounge, Oliver Twist, Talulla's, and a high-profile gig opening for the Backstreet Boys at the Progress Energy Center followed. He was recently voted as Best DJ in the Triangle for 2005 by the Independent Weekly. Yet for all the publicity, Dj FM's first priority is the completion of his 4th release, "Encrypt" (slated for late 2006), sure to be his most personal and accessible work to date. "Encrypt is about hidden love, keeping secrets, and longing," says FM. "It's about wanting something out of reach, and trying to come to terms with the internal conflict that results."

Stand by for the new sound of FM...and the saga continues...

Artist/Entertainment call for 2007 FAMES

It's that time again. We're getting a jump on setting up 2007.

ARTIST/DJ/Band CALL for 2007 FAMES

Calling all artists. Visual, Performance, Musical, every sense, intice us.

Interested in showing your art (and selling, if you choose) in a different atmosphere? A one night set up and break down. No commission. No fees. You're in charge of your money and your wares!

Glamoore Productions proudly hosts its third Saturday installments of "Artistic Interpretations." Local art one night expose' showcasing artistic talents from all over the triangle area. From amateurs to professionals. We combine the delights of fashion themes, art, music, people and cocktails.

A unique blend of house music and other genres to get you dancing later in the evening. Glamoore Productions is currently seeking artists who are interested in displaying their work in a "gallery" like no other.

Past FAME events have drawn large crowds inside RINGSIDE's intimate, eclectic club with 4 floors of entertainment.

No showing fee, no commission taken. We want you to promote yourself and our party! This is a great way for either emerging or well-established artists to display their work in a "non-traditional" gallery-type club setting. We simply provide the environmental canvas to you for an evening of exceptional fashion, art, music and culture.

So, if this sounds appetizing to your palate, uh-hmm, we mean art palate (but not limited to this), then please submit a response to this "art call". Please be certain to include the following information in your reply: Full Name, Email address, Phone Number, description and/or either digital samples or an URL to your online portfolio. We look forward to hearing from you!

This next year we are also opening up the opportunity for groups to get exposure on the 3rd floor. Message me for more information! DJ/Band groups, or people interested in throwing a party on the 3rd floor during a FAME night. We give you the room and you throw a party! Selective process - think creative and fun here!

For more information or if you are interested in submitting work, please contact Stephanie Moore: reply here or email address: glamooreproductions (at) yahoo (dot) commmmmmmmmm!

Thanks and have a lovely week!
