Phoenix Fest 2003, Durham's premier street music festival, will jump
off on Saturday, September 20, 2003 on Fayetteville Street. The
festival celebrates the cultural legacy of the Hayti community,
which is one of Durham's oldest African AMerican communities. The
festival will kick off with a parade at 9 am, all day music on an
open air stage from 10 am to 5 pm, games for chldren and vendors.
This year's entertainment will include Durham's own Bobby Hinton,
Mickey Mills, Jah Daniel, Pastor Rickey Daughtridge and the Vision
Choir of Wilson, NC and many more.

The festival is free, it's fun and it's for the whole family.
