As a follow-up to my last message, I thought I would post the text on the
list info page as it currently stands. As a reminder, this Code of Conduct
outlines expectations for behavior both on the mailing list and for
in-person, face-to-face meetings sponsored by unclug.

This mailing list is for people interested in receiving and contributing
community support for Linux and Linux applications on the UNC campus.

You must subscribe using a UNC e-mail address.

We have a Code of Conduct for this mailing list and in-person meetings we
sponsor.

Short version:

unclug is dedicated to a harassment-free linux education and sharing
experience for everyone. Our anti-harassment policy can be found at:
http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/unclug

Introduction and basics:

unclug is dedicated to providing a harassment-free linux education and
sharing experience for everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation,
disability, physical appearance, body size, race, alma mater, department,
age, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any unclug venue,
including the mailing list and in-person talks. Participants violating these
rules may be sanctioned or reported to relevant authorities at the discretion
of the organizers.

Details:

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual
orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, age,
alma mater, department, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate
intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording,
sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical
contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any
harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

In addition to mailing list contributors, participants at in-person,
face-to-face events are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In
particular, presenters should not use sexualized images, activities, or other
material. Staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized
clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the unclug organizers may
take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender,
removal and banning from the mailing list, or expulsion from the in-person
event. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed,
or have any other concerns, please contact an organizer immediately.
Organizers can be identified by their distinctive name badges or by reviewing
the mailing list info page at:

http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/unclug

For in-person events, unclug organizers will be happy to help participants
contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or
otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration
of the event. We value your attendance.
