- Subject: [unclug] USB external HD help?
- Date: Sat, 28 May 2005 19:24:37 -0400 (EDT)
I have a Western Digital USB 2.0 ... ext3 ... which was happy until
yesterday. My /etc/fstab looks like this:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
/dev/hda6 / ext2 defaults 0 1
/dev/hda5 none swap sw 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/fd0 /floppy auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hda1 /c ntfs ro,auto,uid=1000,gid=1000
/dev/hda2 /d vfat ro,auto,uid=1000,gid=1000
none /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0
/dev/sda1 /external ext3 defaults,user
and I have this entry in /proc/bus/usb/devices right now:
T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=02 Dev#= 10 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=1058 ProdID=0300 Rev=ff.ff
S: Manufacturer=Western Digital Corporation
S: Product=Western Digital USB Hard Drive
S: SerialNumber=AB040428020838
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr= 2mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=08(stor.) Sub=06 Prot=50 Driver=usb-storage
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
I've rebooted, tried switching some options in /etc/fstab ...
unplugging/replugging stuff ... pulling my hair out ...
I can't figure out what changed between two days ago and now (besides a
reboot and updating Firefox).
Where do I look for clues, eh? Did I miss something?
Thanks in advance,
CMP
