Tetes Noires were an all-woman band from Minneapolis, MN active
starting in 1982, releasing albums in 1983, 1984, and 1987, the last,
Clay Foot Gods, co-produced by Victor DeLorenzo and Brian Ritchie of
the Violent Femmes.

They have a listening party for a remixed version of their 2nd album
at Bryant Lake Bowl in Minneapolis on Thursday, Dec 26 at 7 pm.

Party like it's 1984 w/Tetes Noires at a listening party for The New
American Dream, a reimagined re-release of their 2nd album

Presented by members of Têtes Noires

The original Tetes Noires were Jennifer Holt, Camille Gage, Renee
Kayon, Cynthia Bartell, Polly Alexander, Angela Frucci. The band
hasn’t played since 1987 when they called it quits. But now one of
Minnesota's pioneering and highly influential bands from the state's
second golden era of music, have returned with a fitting, newly
remixed version of their much loved second disc, American Dream
(Rapunzel Records, 1984).

Now titled The New American Dream, the minimalist-remix undertaken and
produced by Frucci, the sextet's keyboardist, perfectly explains why
major critics and trendy music club crowds around the country swooned
over (but had difficulty pronouncing) the French-named band.

But The New American Dream also redefines how a 29-year-old group
still sounds relevant in 2013, due largely to their topical lyrics and
acute pop and alt music sensibilities that travel exceedingly well to
the present day.

We’ll listen to the new release, toss in Tetes oddities, act odd,
celebrate, and mingle! Thanks to Bryant Lake Bowl for their
encouragement and continued support of this event.
