Don't know if you have found these sites, but the answers seem to be no, and not much...
Though they do have a pre-SAW history featuring Paul Cook, The Cure, Terry Hall etc.

Does anyone remember if Bananarama played their own instruments?
http://80music.about.com/library/weekly/aa083101b.htm
"None of the women played instruments."
How involved were they in songwriting?
http://www.siobhanfahey.com/content/discography/index.html
"Cheers Then was Bananarama's first self-penned single." 1982 6th single

Cruel Summer 1983
"Song that Siobhan penned..."

I am doing a paper for the EMP Pop Con that touches on mainstream 80s "girl bands" and want to include them, but haven't found much reliable lit out there on them (or "the Nana" as they are called by fans!).

Thanks,
Lizzie Ehrenhalt
