First step, run "glxinfo" in a xterm (or konsole of
whatever) and check if you have the line "direct
rendering: Yes". If that one is missing, or has "No",
you need to enable direct rendering (DRI). This link
(http://gatos.sourceforge.net/dri-debug.php) gives you
good examples on how to do it.
