First off, this belongs in the sm-users list, so I have moved the response
over there....
Second, I believe the section in the networking.sh script you are refering to
is:
if [ `echo $MODE` = dynamic ]; then
echo "$1ing dhcpcd on $DEVICE ..."
if [ -e $DHCPD_PATH$DEVICE.pid ]; then
dhcpcPid=`cat $DHCPD_PATH$DEVICE.pid`
this line:>>>> dhcpcd -k $DEVICE 1>/dev/null 2>&1 <<<<
if you have a file called /etc/sysconfig/network/eth0.dev:
# config file for eth0
# MODE=dynamic if you use dhcp, static otherwise
# dynamic and static both require
# MODULE= (kernel module for eth0)
# if your eth0 driver is built into kernel then leave blank
# static requires the following in addition:
# IP= ip address of eth0
# BROADCAST= broadcast address
# NETMASK= netmask address
# GATEWAY= gateway address (leave blank if gateway is set by other program)
MODULE=8139too
MODE=dynamic
with your own module in there, then it should run
dhcpcd -k eth0....
you can place an echo line in front of it if you want:
echo "dhcpcd -k $DEVICE"
and ./networking.sh restart to see what it is doing...
Good luck,
Eric
