Dear freshmeat.net subscriber,
barsnick just announced version 6u19 of Sun Java Platform, Standard Edition
on freshmeat.net.
The changes are as follows:
26 security issues were resolved, among them buffer overflows in the Runtime
Environment (JRE), in ImageIO, in Java 2D, in Web Start, in the browser
plugin,
in sound support, and in the Hotspot Server. Seven new root certificates were
added, three were removed, and five root certificates were replaced with
stronger signature algorithms from VeriSign, Thawte, and GeoTrust. A warning
is
now raised when encountering mixed signed and unsigned code. An interim
solution
for the Transport Layer Security (TLS) renegotiation issue was made. Several
other minor bugs were fixed.
