This email is to inform you about the release of version '2.5.1b1' of
'Amanda' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can

The changes in this release are as follows:
OpenSSL encryption support was added. amrecover now uses a secure API.
New authentication protocols were added. The name and location of the
configuration file (amanda.conf) can be overridden with the -o option
for Amanda commands. Binary path names (spaces in filenames) are now
supported for file names in amanda.conf and disklist. Code The code
is now clean of warnings detected by lint, and is 64-bit clean. Leaks
found by using the valgrind tool were fixed.

Amanda is a popular network backup and archiving software that
protects multiple machines running various versions of Linux, Unix,
and Microsoft Windows operating systems. It supports tapes, disks,
optical media, and changers.
