He's using the -d (downgrade) switch, which I think probably should invoke
the
triggers. I might be wrong, but if he's going from 2.3 to 2.2, that might
cause other programs to stop working. The modules the other programs would
be using would be compiled for a different version of Python than the one
that is installed.
