Summon is a script dedicated to controlling downloads of spells - it is not
an external abstraction of the actual applications involved. My proposal
would have two scripts (one for netselect and one for wget) which are called
from summon to do the actual work. Summon would call them, and they would
simply translate to whatever downloader/mirrorfinder/whatever the users
wanted.
I didn't think the concept was either difficult, or that bad. It certainly
beats reworking the core sorcery code everytime we find another kind of
interesting download manager.
