Although I threw out the idea of having user-configurable sorcery query
strings, I definitely didn't mean that for this bug, and I'm not sure how
seriously I'm considering that idea (which would be a lot more work anyway). I
just wanted to write the idea down before I forgot it since it might be useful
to have something like that in the further future.

For this bug, I meant that the user should probably have the option of whether
or not they get option 2 or option 3 during the cast. I think that's easy to
implement, as it only requires adding a single menu item to sorcery's feature
menu asking if the user wants to be shown the gaze option during queries. If
the user has that option enabled, then they get option 2. If they disable it,
then they get option 3. The reason I'm suggesting this is that option 3
doesn't
make the change visible to the user at all, and we have a lot of users who are
already accustomed to sorcery that would probably be less likely to go back
and
re-read the manpage (granted, they might also be less likely to go in and
change the option in the feature menu, but I'll address that in a moment). If
they don't look at the documentation (specifically, if they don't know they
should because of the change), then they will miss this feature even if they
want it.

As for whether or not the user goes into the feature menu of sorcery, perhaps
we can set the default to enable displaying the option during casts, so that
when a user updates sorcery and does a cast, they will see the change and then
they can look up what it is about and how to disable it. If it annoys people
to
have the change, it will only annoy them until they disable it in the menu,
which isn't hard to do at all. I think this is more visible and transparent to
the user (particularly those who don't know about this feature already), and
thus a better way to go than simply hiding the feature but having it present.
This is my personal opinion though, and I welcome discussion on this.
