Ideally the user would be prompted to resurrect even an older cache/version if
that meant satisfying the requests. Some people would rather have an old
version of some dependency resurrected than be forced to compile a newer
version.

Even if you hack files in $DEPENDS_CONFIG manually (which we don't advertise),
the checks aren't needed. If a spell needs something else in another spell,
the
proper way to ensure that is via individual subdependencies, not by making
sorcery jump through hoops.
