Summary: Making Sorcery itself conform to the FHS
Product: Sorcery
Version: Untargetted future release
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: Unknown
AssignedTo: sm-sorcery-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: eekee57 AT fastmail.fm
I guess I'm being anal-retentive here, but it occasionally bugs me that
sorcery
is about a million miles from the FHS. I don't suppose it needs to be fixed,
as
such, but every time I look up /etc/sorcery/local/* I want to file a bug
report.
Here goes...
/etc/sorcery/local -> /etc/sorcery
Because /etc/*/local is a tautology.
/etc/sorcery/install.log -> /var/log/sorcery/sorcery-install.log
or /var/log/sorcery/install/sorcery-<version>
It's a log. I'd prefer the latter version, might be useful to look
up old sorcery install logs.
/etc/sorcery/<remainder> -> /usr/share/sorcery
Because it's not admin-modifiable stuff.
/var/lib/sorcery/modules -> /usr/lib/sorcery
or /usr/lib/sorcery/modules
Not var data at all.
/var/lib/sorcery/build -> /usr/lib/sorcery/build
Change assuming this is not var data.
If it is var, (e.g. for cross-compiling) then no move.
/var/lib/sorcery/<regular_files> -> /usr/share/sorcery
These don't change outside of an install, do they?
