Summary: Security error message in sorcery ?
Product: Sorcery
Version: 1.13.x
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: Sorcery
AssignedTo: sm-sorcery-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: eric AT schabell.com
On a production box I have find and locate permissions reduced to only root
access (not an unusual thing). When using sorcery as a user on this box you
can
normally wait for the dialog requesting root password to gain access to needed
commands used by sorcery. Below you see the errors I see while sorcery
processes
its various libs before requesting the root password (does not matter what
sorcery command I use, here queue is the example):
> sorcery queue
/var/lib/sorcery/modules/libmisc: line 1282: /usr/bin/find: Permission denied
Cannot find arch spec for x86_32!
Enter the root password, please.
Password:
Generating list of spells to update...
For the rest it continues to work fine, just needs to get permission before it
goes off and tries to use find.
Running sorcery v1.13.5-rc6.
