Summary: install_config_file should mark "new" and "old" files
Product: Sorcery
Version: Untargetted future release
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P5
Component: Cast
AssignedTo: sm-sorcery-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: sergey AT sourcemage.org
When "install_config_file" presents the four choices, selecting some of them
generates a file <original-name>.<timestamp>. I suggest that this file also
has
a marker of whether it's the "old" file (if the user chose to use the new file
and rename the old one) or a "new" file (if the user chose to stay with the
current configuarion but install new configuration file with timestamped
name).
So, something like <original-name>.<timestamp>.[new|old] would be created.
This is really helpful in analyzing and merging old and new configuration
files
after the cast is over. Without this feature, one has to remember what choices
s/he made during cast, and there multiple choices, it's error-prone.
