well, dispel -d is kind of a duplicate implementation of resurrect, so when
resurrect is good and working, dispel -d will be a call to it (the new
resurrect
supports versions, unlike the old one, which is likely why theres a duplicate
implementation of it).

As for keeping old tablets around...im not sure how i feel about that yet, it
would be nice, someday, to be able to cast a spell from a tablet, but i donno
if
that works yet. Its likely that if they were kept around, it'd be in a
different
location.

As for space concerns, theres some code around to squish identical files
together with hardlinks, my machine at the time had a 19mb tablet go to 7mb.

As for tar.bz2'ing the tablet, the idea was to have a quick, read-only,
repository for information about a spell, tar.bz2'ing them would slow it down,
and make it more complicated, unless we had some scheme where we periodically
tar.bz2'ed things that werent looked at, then un compressed them when we need
them again on the fly, thats an interesting idea, but not one I want to do
anytime soon.
