So after looking through this, I dont think this new method solves
much.

Right now sorcery inserts /var/lib/sorcery/build/ into the path
which runs some scripts which make distcc/ccache work, they then
remove themselves from the path and call the program they were intended
to run. This is simple and I am personally un-aware of any major
problems with this method other than a bit of overhead, which only
occurs if the user actually plans on using distcc or ccache. There
is no recursive

The new method thats been proposed involves removing those scripts
and determining earlier on how to call distcc and ccache. The
distcc/ccache spells then for some reason install their binaries
to /usr/lib/[ccache|distcc]/ instead of /usr/bin (!) and then must be
in the PATH. The ccache and distcc spells solve this by for some
modifying /etc/profile, which I think should be avoided at any and all cost
becaue it can be very risky, and have possibly disastrous consequences.

I think the motivation behind it is so people can utilize distcc/ccache
outside of sorcery, however that doesnt solve all the problems, DISTCC_HOSTS
and CCACHE_DIR have to be in the environment for it to work. Instead one
can just put /var/lib/sorcery/build in the front of their path and it just
works. I've done this myself so I know it works. The only issues is the
scripts re-execing themselves because of duplicate PATH entries, but I
think this is solvable other ways.

If no one objects I would like to resolve this as wont fix because
the proposed fixes have no real advantage over the existing solution.
As far as I can tell we force users to recast distcc/ccache, run the
risk of messing up /etc/profile, lose flexibility and make it harder
for users to use ccache/distcc with sorcery's settings outside of sorcery.
