I can't reproduce this behaviour. I didn't have nss installed, but casting it
after firefox is already installed doesn't give me any errors (never did
before when I had both installed either).
Perhaps because my /etc/ld.so.conf lists /usr/lib/mozilla before /usr/lib
and /lib it uses the first library found in /usr/lib/mozilla, perhaps not.
Assuming this is infact a real error, not related to some local problem on
Bas' machine then simplest thing might be to have
firefox/mozilla/mozilla-nightly conflict with nss. the nss spell was written
purely for gaim to have nss without casting MOZILLA-BROWSER, if mozilla is
fixed to install the correct headers for nss like firefox does then nss can
be
removed when any MOZILLA_BROWSER is installed. I asked several times for
someone who had mozilla installed to add the same two line hack from the
(then) firebird BUILD to mozilla BUILD and test it but no-one did.
If this creates a problem for gaim, then an alternative is to install the nss
libs into /usr/lib/nss/* so they are out of the hardcoded ld path. that would
also solve the problem.
