Summary: scribe needs an option to be told about local (personal)
grimoires
Product: Sorcery
Version: Devel
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: Scribe
AssignedTo: sm-sorcery-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: sorcerer AT flamesnyper.com
One of the problems I always see when I do a scribe update is that it tries to
grab my existing "personal" grimoire from a web site.
In fact, I don't download my personal grimoire... I just have it on my system,
so all of this:
Updating grimoire personal from http://codex.sourcemage.org/personal.tar.bz2
/var/lib/sorcery/codex /tmp
--13:58:08-- http://codex.sourcemage.org/personal.tar.bz2
=> `personal.tar.bz2'
Resolving codex.sourcemage.org... done.
Connecting to codex.sourcemage.org[152.2.210.81]:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found
13:58:08 ERROR 404: Not Found.
GRIMOIRE NOT FOUND AT SOURCE
is unnecessary. And -- if there was, one day, a "personal" grimoire created,
I'd
have to change the name of mine!
What scribe needs is an option so that you can mark a grimoire as "local" or
something so that it won't try and retrieve it.
