Summary: distributed compilation feature for embedded devices.
Product: Sorcery
Version: Post-1.0
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: Cast
AssignedTo: sm-sorcery-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: seth AT tautology.org

I'm filing some feature enhancement bugs in the hope that eventually I will be
able to make a StrongARM port. Since these devices have such little memory
and
no mass storage device for swapping, I have two proposals. This is the first
one.

All I would like sorcery to do is have distributed compilation where the
casting
box doesn't need to be on the list of distributed compilers.

That way we can compile all programs remotely.

This will also help with heavily-loaded servers that cannot spare processor
cycles to updates. A cast on one of these could compile programs on a remote
computer that is dedicated for updating then install them locally.
