In view of recent messages rearding problems with linux-2.6, could I suggest
the following:
1. add a tag file KERNEL2.4 to any spells which won't work with linux-2.6
this will allow easy identification of problem spells
2. modify linux spell to create a new symlink
/usr/src/linux-2.{2,4,6} -> relevant source tree
3. modify sorcery to check for the KERNEL2.4 tag ( as was done for USEGCC2)
and and make
/usr/src/inux -> /usr/src/linux-2.4
for the duration of the cast, resetting it afterwards if necessary.
4. are there any spells which are specifically banned with linux-2.6, e.g.
alsa-drivers or devfsd?
Any thoughts, or is this overkill?
Regards, Treeve
