Why does xfree* build dri modules which I don't want?
The relevant part of my hosts.def file is
#define XF86CardDrivers vga vesa v4l fbdev ati
#define DriDrivers r128 radeon
However, the modules that it installs are:
$ ls /lib/modules/2.4.23-pre7/kernel/drivers/char/drm/
gamma_dma.o i830_dma.o mga_irq.o r128_irq.o radeon_mem.o sis.o
gamma_drv.o i830_drv.o mga.o r128.o radeon.o tdfx_drv.o
gamma.o i830_irq.o mga_state.o r128_state.o radeon_state.o tdfx.o
i810_dma.o i830.o mga_warp.o radeon_cp.o sis_drv.o
i810_drv.o mga_dma.o r128_cce.o radeon_drv.o sis_ds.o
i810.o mga_drv.o r128_drv.o radeon_irq.o sis_mm.o
Why does it install gamma*, mga*, i830*, tdfx* and sis*?
Also depmod reports missing references
Nevertheless, everything actually works OK
Regards, Treeve
