Right now, devel sorcery and grimoire are tightly linked due to the
massive init change. hgg and I worked on the sustained list and moved to
coreutils (from file/text/shellutils) at the same time, plus we removed
some stuff from sustained that didn't affect running sorcery, and added
some stuff that was pertinent, and at the same time, hgg changed the
basesystem spell to catch all the correct dependencies and options for
sorcery and a working system. Since coreutils changed, I thought, why not
move to module-init-tools, which is required by the new kernel and is
fully backwards compatible. So we scripted it up to work automatically
even more robustly, then made that change. Soon, we'll have the migration
paths for other stuff worked out so long as you switch both sorcery and
grimoire at the same time, but as of now, I strongly suggest if you are on
devel grimoire if you want the init scripts to work, to switch to devel
sorcery and follow rycee's howto on his website, otherwise, don't compile
anything involving init which is also mission critical to your system or
life and expect your system to work as expected. Or move to test
grimoire... Since we're also moving devfs to /dev now _and_ have a new
iso build system, might as well rewrite the whole system, eh? Ahh, but,
the only way to do that is to keep anything marked devel as far away from
anything not marked devel as humanly possible, otherwise things will
break.

Seth (considers adding paragraph breaks... nah)
