I object to the suggestion, because it's simply more work for nothing. If someone wants to do that, I'm available for advice on modifying the update_spell.sh (or spell_update.sh) to include this function. If it's not done for me by any tool, I will not do these mechanical things. Sorry.
This also includes the suggestion on adding a "version of the day" or I'd suggest simply hour/minute/second there because it's easier of automate. And make it in GMT to be on a safe side. Any volunteers?

Sergey.

Just so everyone is reminded of this, the UPDATED field should only be
changed if you want to force a spell to recompile for any change other
than a version bump. The version bump itself will also have the spell
recompiled. I know, it makes sense to update the UPDATED field with when
you last modified the spell, but our current convention is the former. It
doesn't _hurt_ to do so, but if you don't want to take the time, that is
fine.

However, it may be that we should change our standard so that the UPDATED
field is updated whenever a change is made (including VERSION); this is
how it used to be (in the Before Time).

Thoughts?
